It has been repainted at some point and the heat stamp means that it is a m1917a1 with its liner removed, I think.

Very interesting as you had already showed this helmet to us about a month ago. It was suggested to you possible Dutch post war use. I'm pretty sure at least it had a Dutch liner in it. Why take it apart and show it again?

I think Mr Bavarian has some explaining to do. The helmet he posted on October 3 appears to be the exact same one posted a month later on this thread, minus a lining. In the October thread he says he acquired the helmet "at a flee market in munich years ago" but this time it was acquired "yesterday" (10 November). What's going on Mr Bavarian? I also notice you recently posted photos of a German paratroop helmet cover you claimed to own. Another member said he owned the cover and it was in his possession. All starting to sound rather suspicious. What's the game?

Oh, it's two different helmets you posted in October and November is it? Well let's have a look at two photos of those two "different" helmets you posted showing the "9A" mark.

notice the scratched paint and rusty spots on both helmets, one with liner, one with out. The rust marks are the same. One helmet posted in two different threads.

Mr Bavarian a lot of us here are detail nuts, we notice stuff. And can smell BS a mile away. You are not being fully candid with your dealings and communication to other members on this forum.

    OH The plot thickens

A simple pic of both of them would resolve any doubt?
