I love your raw edge version it has oodles of character ! Does the rim angle down more than usual or is it the angle of the camera ?

Well spotted Roger, yes the rim angle is steeper than the others that I have. Maybe Edgar Allen & Co Ltd helmets have more of an angle on their rims?

I got this Mk1*, can't resist them at the moment.
Made by Vickers 1916-17, chin strap lugs dated 1938, can't find maker/date on the liner but it's the largest size they do, 7 3/4's as there are no rubber buffers.
It's obviously lost it's nut & bolt & been replaced by a type of rivet, which in a way defeats the object of being a Mk1*.
To one side is an black/yellow/red flash which I believe is not for Belgium, but I know the Norfolks had the same colours?
On the other side of the helmet is another flash, black & white, again ? So any idea's.

Can't help with the flashes I'm afraid. What is the number/mark beneath the white "M" ?

Below the M is an 3.

Hmm, what do you think the 3 means ?

The M means the rim is magnetic, so why would there be an 3 as well?

This Mk1* was made by D/F & is a raw edge one, Mk1 liner, Mk1 chin strap & Mk1 chin strap lugs.
