Article about: A bit battered & bruised, but this Mk1* looks to be an early one. Rimless, Mk1 liner dated 1937 & made by HELMETS Ltd, being the first year they made Mk1 liners. Mk1 chin strap lugs

    It's got MKI* written all over it, but the seller didn't know. Sold for £60

    A nice 1938 dated MKI*/MKII hybrid made from a very early War Office Pattern shell. Note the very clear ripples in the steel and the acentric stamping of the dome. The rim is magnetic hence the white "M" STAMP.
