Mk2 Brodie liner change

Article about: Probably just an over active operator while stamping the liner, they would have been stamping thousands of these a week.

    Default Mk2 Brodie liner change

    Hello guys.

Could you tell me if I can put a 7 1/2 liner on a shell that used to accommodate a 7 3/4 one?

    Will it fit properly?

    Thank you in advance.

Hi,the liner will go in but they are made to the correct size for the shell that they are to go in,so the fit will not be as it should if you do this. P.S. you are in the wrong subsection/forum!! Leon.

I thought all British helmet shells were the same size, so any liner will fit I think.

All the shells are the same size,it's the liners that are different. A 6 1/4 which is the smallest size has 4 rubber buffers on the crown strip, & 4 on the head band. A 7 3/4 which is the largest size has none on the crown strip & none on the head band. 7 1/2 has no rubber buffers on the crown strip but 4 on the head band. This is for the Mk2 liner which the buffers were removable, if you had a 7 3/4 Mk1 liner & it was still to small you had to remove the rivets holding the rubber pads in.

Just a miss stamp/double stamp, not a problem as you do see this.
