I read it as FB & Co L(t)d.
If you're right, then it could be Francis and Barnett Ltd of Coventry, who were also a military supplier. I just think the 'E' or '&' character would be between the 'F B' if it was 'F & B'.

Francis Barnett were never known as F & B -as far as I know, only as F B, though I can't remember if they were & co Ltd. As I implied, it could be for a much smaller company, that does not occur to us. Fred Bloke etc...........

    Where was it found?

I think it is more likely to read F B & Co. LonDon

Seems they used both versions of the name. It looks from this ad that Francis-Barnett was the brand name for the bikes, and Francis & Barnett was the company that made them perhaps.

    Mk2 helmet insignia FB

Anyway, I'm getting off the point here, but it's interesting.
