Here is a standard HG Mk2 helmet, No.2C with textured khaki green paint inside & out, dating it to about 1941.
It has a hard to find chin strap which is non-magnetic so could have been used on an Mk2 No.1, although I have never seen it on one. Liner is dated 1941 & made by CCL.

Here is a non-standard HG Mk2, again an No.2C with it's original grey factory paint, but over painted inside & out with smooth khaki green paint. To the front is V3 HG which I think was used around the London area, also is the ghosting of a woven net which unfortunately has long gone. This was done due to shortages of helmets in 1940/41, so the HG had to use whatever they were issued with.
    Shell & liner dated 1940.

Another non-standard HG Mk2 is this private purchase with a flash of the 7th Middlesex HG. These helmets are always dated on the chin strap lugs either 1938 or 1939, apart from the size on the liner there are no other markings. They are non-magnetic.
This was either purchased by the HG unit or by one of the HG personnel with money to spare.

A Mk2 No.2B belonging to the Rifle Brigade HG, liner dated 1941, shell probably as well, but due to the textured paint not readable.

    A very nice lot Aaron.

Are the Middlesex helmets easy (ish) to find? I've seen them come up on ebay a few times or maybe it's the same helmet that hasn't been sold.

There is a Middlesex one which has been on ebay for a long time, & will continue to be there at the price of over £200, can't quite remember what the exact price was, but a lot.
