    Pretty rough on the outside, but after researching the owner, I can live with that.
    Flight sergeant Kenneth Charles Scott, served his Country & traveled half way round the World & died protecting the UK during WW2.
    On 18th of December 1943 while serving with the air fighting development unit from Wittering, his Hurricane 11C LE135 dived into the ground out of cloud at Dunstall Green nr Dalham Suffolk. Presumed loss of control.
    22 year old F/Sgt K.C.Scott RAAF is buried at Cambridge City Cemetry.

    Unusually for an Australian helmet, yes. After looking up his number I just assumed he died in Australia, but googling further found out he died in the UK. That's why his helmet was here, but at just 22 years of age, what a waste, like so many others.

    Great find Aaron, a lovely helmet with all that history ( even if it is a sad story). If it were ever re-issued, it still does not take away the powerful history that is known for sure about it's one time owner F/Sgt Scott. Leon.
