MKii Desert tan RE flashed helmet

Article about: Evening gents, just spotted this fine looking 1940 dated Engineers helmet, all seems in order, a hand painted flash and standard sand texture tan over the "shiney" green. There is

    some very good points to consider, makes me want to say wait for a one looker, a hands on would be ideal for this lid,

    Just an odd question, but...if you're going to apply a fake flash, why not apply one that would increase the selling worth of the helmet itself? An Engineer's flash is not exactly rare to see. It's a nice looking helmet. I like it.

    As for the condition of the flash, seeing as how it was hand applied-likely in the field-the paint used would certainly be more vulnerable to scratching and chipping than the factory applied helmet paint itself. I see nothing wrong with this set.
