    Hi Seb,
It's a MkII No.2C (three holes drilled in the brim) for civilian use only, so if the flash is original then I expect it was used by the home guard. I'm not sure but would it be for Manchester. Any chance of some pics of the inside, dates makers names?

    thank's for the answer.

Shell was wade by BMB in 1941, liner by BMB in 1943.
    No name inside.

Do you think flash is original ?

    Hi Seb,
Hard to say if the flash is ok or not, if sold as an army helmet then maybe it's a fake. Having said that marked homeguard helmets are just as rare & expensive too.
Frenchy the holes were stamped in the rim to make sure they did'nt get mixed up with the better quality manganese armed forces helmets. MkII No.2A 1 Hole manganese steel rejects painted black, No.2B 2 holes mild steel strip grey, No.2C 3 holes mild steel plate grey, No.2 D 4 holes mild steel grey.
