Default MKVIII Goggles with Type-C Flight Helmet.....

I have had this 'Type-C' flight helmet for quite a few years, displaying it with
some US AN-6530 goggles. Finally managed to find these MKVIII goggles
a couple of months ago from the UK - they may be post-war as they
are not marked 'WD' anywhere, but are in wonderful condition
    - and the price was right.

I used a satin scarf around the base or neck of the display head,
which gives a dash to the overall effect.........!

I honestly have not looked inside this helmet for years. I'll have to do that some day.
It sits in a display case behind glass, and every few days I take a look !

The goggles above, as you can see, are a light blue-grey. The seller mentioned that
these were his Veteran grandfathers, and that they were the last of several pair
he had owned. I was lucky to get them - they are as clean as any I've seen
    over the last 20 years........!

The set-up looked like this ( below ) until only a few months ago, when I changed
out the goggles. ( American Pilots favored Brit helmets because they were more
comfortable, and often wore MKVIII goggles as well. Also, it would not be
uncommon to see US flight helmets paired with British goggles )

Wolfie, If there is a WD mark on the goggles it will be behind the central link of the frame stamped into the top part of the leather nose guard. Check carefully as often the impression is only slight, but if geniune should be there.

It's a nice set. It's gets me thinking that I should look into acquiring a flying helmet or two to add to my collection. After all I am a pilot. I could even wear one in the cockpit complete with silk scarf. It would give the lads a laugh. They all wear helmets for their skydiving.
