IMO Taka it is olive green instead of lime which fits right in with the two field painted colors that were adopted by the Canadian army durring the second world war.

Hi Mark,
Thank you for the correction on the color and confirming a WWII example.
Cheers!

No worries Taka a bloody nice helmet indeed as to war time the only two colors we adopted post war were a gloss and semi gloss OD green in around late 52 to early 53 and then again in the early 60's you will find some were repainted again and there is some speculation on a factory painted Tella green variation as well that was issued during the Korean war this however is unsubstantiated by period evidence as far as I know here are a couple of images below for you to mull over .

That's a pretty interesting green, first for me.
Thank you for posting them, Mark.
Cheers!

Hi Taka the 41 G.S.W. is a fairly hard helmet to come by I do like the sand textured paint but I am not a big fan of green overcoat IMO looks to have been put on with a paint roller going by the texturing .

Hi Mark,
Looks like the green paint had some thinner applied, "wrinkled".
Also the light brown was applied on top of the green, so I've no idea.
Thank you,
Taka
Hi Taka I will have another look when I get home from work on my laptop hard to make out the details on my phone I am rather curious to why they would add thinner to the paint unless the hole helmet has been wiped down in thinner.
Ps. Were are you in Alberta right now.
Regards Mark
