Just found one of these under my house that I've lived in for 10 years. Clearly not as nice as this one but still intact. On the front has "fire" painted on and fits the description given, with the stamp Hardleys on the brim. Took me several attempts in different light at different angles to locate the stamp.

    Hi Guys,

I picked this one up years ago from an old army surplus store and have never been able to identify it.Attachment 291865Attachment 291863Attachment 291864Attachment 291866

As you can see from the photos this helmet isn't oval like other brodie style helmets, it's perfectly circular! Light green in color, no marking or stamps as far as I can tell, the liner reminds me for those I've seen on ww1 American helmets.

I've been told it could be a transitional model though I've not seen one before.

Has anyone seen one like it or have any idea what it could be?

    Thanks

    Gidday Mick,

no worries! The pic is not that great as it's only been taken tonight. It's hard enough to see the stamp with the naked eye as the condition isn't too flash.
