Hi all. Picked up these two beauties today. A G.S.W stamped Canadian and an Air Raid Precaution civil. My question is if anyone has any tips/access to researching Canadian SN’s + name? Any assistance or pointers would be appreciated, please and thank you!

I have tried searching endless databases by the gov and can’t seem to find anything. He isn’t listed amongst the dead I believe.

    The combat helmet is named:
    L. Boucher D.36173 — 108 or 10B

    Thanks

    Hahaha you’re so right

Thank you for the comment, but I should’ve been more clear- the civil helmet is not named; the details are in the combat helmet

I know that there’s something important about the letter beginning an SN, and I think it can at least be attributed to air, land or sea. But I can’t find any info.

Could the "D" represent driver? The name is quite unusual, French/Belgian by either ancestry or an ex Dunkirk evacuee?

I would think most likely ancestry with such a large French population in Canada. However if I could attribute the SN to a regiment we’d know for sure! Unfortunately the SN doesn’t fall into the ranges listed by Jerry. There’s an odd 10,000 # gap.

I love this helmet; the guy wrote his name and number in pencil on the skirt, only to add it nicely in paint later on. As expected I see Canadian Brodie’s frequently around here but rarely so nicely marked.

I don't collect Canadian equipment but can appreciate an item like this as I know they are getting harder to find and will continue to appreciate in value (at least on this side of the Atlantic).
