Thanks for the link.
Glad to help if you have a look around my site you will find pages on British helmets from 1 to 6 and others.
Great website, do you know what date this helmet is?
Which one. If we are talking about the Zukerman they seem to be always 1941.
Sorry, when do you reckon the police helmet was produce and used?
Your police helmet probably has a date, both in the shell and the liner.Im thinking it must be 50's-60's?..
It probably is 1950s I have one exactly the same its in the home front section of helmets and head gear with a liner dated 1952 . The earliest date I have seen on a MK.1V is 1945 then the order was canceled in 1946 and started up again sometime in the early 50s and then became MK5s in 1959 with a new liner.
found some info inside the police helmet on the liner which reads;
REM MkIII 1952
So could this infact be a MkIII helmet or just a MkIII liner?
I'm think that this may be a police riot helmet that pre-dates the MkV version seeing as the police wouldn't require a helmet like this for any other use. I've been searching the web for similar police helmets with no luck so is this police variant rare?
