Anyone? - NIck K
Just a guess, but possibly used during air raids? Those helmets were used for just about everything in Britain.... Civil Defense, Military Combat, Police etc.....
Well its a US WW1 helmet but im not sure the period or where it was used. - Nick K
Definitely a U.S. Brodie. I'm guessing homefront, but not sure.
Did the neighbour not tell you anything about it ?
Check on-line for helmets with the same type of straps.
This will narrow it down to the correct era
for you, at least. Nice lid............!
Regards,
Steve.
WW2 homefront,
Chris
i would say Home front. From the photo of the inside the helmet, seem that it not standard type helmet issued on the home front. looks like the doughboy helmet, but reissued (i think).
OK thanks guys but if you think about it why would a nurse need a helmet back at the states but if they were on foreign soil then they would have a reason because if there is a bombing of where they are or if theres a battle then they would be protected. Also it might be white so it stands out more when your in a hospital so if someones needs assistance then they could identify you but thats just my opinion. They didnt tell me anything but ill ask next time i see them. - Nick K
