Netted South African helmet opinions

I have had this helmet for some time but would welcome opinions on it, especially the net. At first thought it was Indian but now not convinced. The helmet is named twice. Liner dated 1940. Has it all been put together with net and names added or is it a period piece?

Net does look like a Indian made one, and yes it all could be a put together helmet, due to the nut and bolt not being an original to the helmet. The strap looks to be British made.
