A raw edge BMB 1941 for district 21 which is Sketty which is that which covers Swansea in South Wales. Liner is BMB 1940.

Not sure on the rank but commandant/senior officer I think, it appears to have had rank star at one stage which is now missing and two blue bands of differing thickness which hopefully someone will know what exact rank they are for.

I did not have a BMB raw edge in my collection or a Welsh NFS lid so two birds with one stone so to speak.

Lovely lid Jerry..nice find. The bands denote Senior Company Officer according to the NFS Drill book.

Seems like these BMB raw edges all ended up on the Home front?

All home front for these I think, though not magnetic so perhaps just an economy measure. I have 3 BMB 1941's, two MKIIC's and this one, the other two are both home guard issue.

Ahh, yes Jerry, I guess the Yorkshire men may be more inclined to use the GOD'S country phrase, I'm Anglo Saxon from around 823AD, so that's where my "blinkered" knowledge comes from! By the way, good luck in the Euro's, just try not to thrash England in the qualifiers!! Leon.

...and that circle above the NFS decal is interesting....too uniform and centrally positioned to be anything other than another badge of some sort.....unless it was a particularly corrosive well positioned price sticker ! ;-)
