this one I hope is a Aussie navy issued item ??? Pure assumption on my part because I once saw a photo on line of a Australian sailor on guard duty on ship wearing one similar . the helmet looks to have once been white in colour . it has 3 holes in the back I assume for some shade cloth . the top front is a little damaged and I can not make out it has ever had any patches or badges attached
probably not even military issue but still a honey

Hi Bruce,
You could be right about it being Navy issue. However I have an identical Pith Helmet named to an RAAF pilot, that served in New Guinea.
I have no idea what the 3 holes in the back would have been made for.

Nice Aussie made Wolseley sun helmet. Impossible to say which service it was issued to, but I am certain it would probably be military issue.
