Police MKII 1939

Article about: Picked this one up today on the way home from an early finish from work. Glossy blue inside, matt blue repaint on the exterior, 38 dated liner and 39 dated shell, both clearly maker marked.

Picked this one up today on the way home from an early finish from work.

Glossy blue inside, matt blue repaint on the exterior, 38 dated liner and 39 dated shell, both clearly maker marked. Sadly the chinstrap is broken, but got it for a sensible price for such an otherwise clean example.

I think they were the first makers of liners in 1937,& had been making helmets (pith helmets) since 1924.

Indeed, here is a label from one of Wolseley helmets, though a later example.
