Red Triangle & Circle on Helmet

Here is another helmet I recently acquired....what is the significance of the red circle / triangle? Are they ww2?

Hi Steve,
There's no reason to doubt the red circle/triangle are not WW2 as the wear on them matches the rest of the helmet. But have'nt got a clue what they stand for?
Any chance of some pics of the inside, & date maker of the helmet.
