Repainting Aussie helmets: Instructions from 1940.
I was reading "Standing Orders for the Equipment of the Australian Military Forces and Senior Cadets Vol 4, 1940" and found a section on repainting helmets. I thought it interesting that the colour is referred to as "grey, dark, G.S." and not for example "khaki green No.#3" or one of the other green/khaki colours mentioned in the book. I wonder if these instructions are an echo of a British manual as is often the case?
Cheers,
Oz.

Nice piece of information, it really needs to be stuck, with other Australian helmets and information so it can be accessed before it gets lost to time.

Happy to re-post if someone wants to show me where.

Unfortunately there is no thread dedicated to Australian & also New Zealand helmets.
Needs one of the Mods to stick one so all information on them can go there. 😊

Probably, but still be good to have a single thread for aussie lids and another for the kiwis, or a joint thread at least
