    Default Rimless MkIV Helmet ?

I picked up this MkIV helmet up this morning, it appears to be missing the stainless steel rim, strangely though the sand paint finish goes right to the very edge, shell is dated 1953 and there is no liner. Any ideas anyone ?

Hi Gary ,I hope you do not mind me tagging onto your thread but I have a rimless Mk5 to show, mine is missing the chinstrap and has a retro-fitted nut rather than the lift the dot fixing for the liner, I cannot make out a date as there is too much paint on the inside of the shell ,but he liner is dated 1975,thanks Opex

Thank you Tinlid, that seems to be something I need to look into, I will try and find a date under the paint if I can
