Strange mk.II chin strap... opinion please

Hi,
In my collection I have a mk.II helmet with a particular chin strap. It has the first part with two metal spring (it look like a mk.II), but the central part look like a mk.III strap. It is a mix betwen a mk.II and a mk.III chin strap.
I tried it by a magnet and it is not magnetic and it has not any mark.
Do you have some information? In your opinion is it a war or post war strap?

The metal spring are not magnetic, the shiny metal buckle is magnetic... and then?

The Mk3 chin strap parts are non magnetic, wondering if this strap was used on the home front.
What paint is on the outside of helmet?

Do you think it is not a combat helmet ? In your opinion I must hange the chinstrap?

Helmet is a Mk2 No1, made of manganese steel, as used by the military.
I would not change strap until you are 100% sure exactly what the strap is.
