I could not agree more Jerry I suspect he is using a chemical aging technique and possibly adding a little iron and or iron rust dust either to the textured paint and or on the surface and then using an oxidizing agent to try and speed up the aging process again just my opinion though.

Is it bare metal inbetween the white?I cant make it out on my pc...perhaps he got busy with the paintstripper!Personally I wouldn't touch it with a Bargepole.
Also, why are these pics reminding me of a seller of suspect American helmets?..always high end..similar display..similar location...I may of course be wrong.

Did anyone ever see a period photo of a field painted flash on an SA helmet?
I would treat this Mk II lIke it was my in laws with the bubonic plague and avoid it at all costs.
