It's Canadian and WWII but missing liner and a complete chinstrap.
The name stencil looks to have been a later addition to it.

They originally wouldnt have a name stenciled on it?

Re: Unknown Helmet Acquired - Need to know Era!
Not in that manner, IMO.
You can find 'Warden' - for air raid wardens - 'Police' etc,
but you do not usually find lids 'personally named' like this.
I know it has sentimental value to you, but it is really just a shell.
Complete Canadian WWII helmets are relatively common
and affordable today.

Thanks for all your help.
Its not so much sentimental or about the helmet itself, just curious about the name.

Re: Unknown Helmet Acquired - Need to know Era!
Does the rim materiel butt up to each other or overlap. Are the rivets holding the bails on made of a split rivet or solid?
If the rim split butts up its of American Mfg, if it overlaps its of Brittish origin (England or Canadian).
If the rivets are solid they are American, split they are British.
Some helmets have overlapped rim material and solid rivets. They Were AEF helmets at the very beginning of WWI. Made in England used by USA.

Re: Unknown Helmet Acquired - Need to know Era!
Hi,
It is a W.W.2 helmet shell if brit it would have solid rivits not split,
We only used te split rivit in the first war, unless it is a re-use
helmet.
