I have had this Helmet for a while and it has been posted on another forum so apologies if you have seen it before.
I think Tinlid may have another example with a better liner. It looks to be ww1 American made by the liner rivet and strap.

Hi Roger,
It's British & made by Head Protectors,(private purchase) haven't seen one before with the sides straightened out before.
The R stands for Rescue.
It is WW II era Civil defence, as and indicated above - private purchase.
Unfortunately mine has not got the label, but I have seen some still with one.
What makes you think the strap is American?
The strap and buckle are certainly British.
I have the same design buckle used on equipment straps and side screens on my Jeep. They called them "quick release".
Cheers, Ade.

It must be my mistake, I just always thought that style was US.
Thanks for the replies !
