    I have had this Helmet for a while and it has been posted on another forum so apologies if you have seen it before.

    I think Tinlid may have another example with a better liner. It looks to be ww1 American made by the liner rivet and strap.

    Hi Roger,
    It's British & made by Head Protectors,(private purchase) haven't seen one before with the sides straightened out before.
    The R stands for Rescue.

    It is WW II era Civil defence, as and indicated above - private purchase.

    where did you get the information, has yours still got the label ?
    Its definitely an American made buckle though isn't it ?

    Unfortunately mine has not got the label, but I have seen some still with one.
    What makes you think the strap is American?

    The strap and buckle are certainly British.

    I have the same design buckle used on equipment straps and side screens on my Jeep. They called them "quick release".

    It must be my mistake, I just always thought that style was US.
