Nice helemt, the insignia looks like the collar tabs of the post war Italian armoured forces to me, which would line up nicely.

Great find Tinhat! That solves that mystery. I don't know the maker/size just yet, but I'll post full detailed pictures once it arrives.

Do you have more pics of the helmet by chance? Might be wrong, but it looks like the post war euro made helmet vs the US WW2 produced version. The Euro clones had a higher dome than the GI version, and a flatter vs more rounded look.The trim around the brim in the front looks off as well. Also, the ear flaps would have the "X" shaped retaining straps for the ear phones over the outer ear as your appears judging by what looks like the edge of a strap on the left ear as we are looking at it.This is the feeling I get when viewing your photo. I might be off and it is just the angle and my monitor?

Here's the only picture I could find of a Euro Clone, as you can see the vent holes are further forward/lower down than on the one I have posted, so I don't think it's an European version.

Nitram, there were other variants out there, but as I said, it might just be me then. That is what happens when trying to read and view pics after having been sick as heck for the last three days. Looking forward to your pics when it all arrives
