US m5 Flak helmet - Covered in white paint

Any thoughts on this? How was the interior so meticulously painted white?

I could always purchase it and display it with a copy of "Catch 22" as a statement piece. :P

Did you ever get it? It looks like a Mk5 late war model. I would be getting the horrible paint off and getting some OD onto it. Nice project if you could get it.

Alas, I did not get it. It wasn't that bad of a price, about $60, but I decided to save my money for something else.

I do not understand the reasoning behind this helmet. Why would anyone do a thing like that.
