I am after some information on these two helmets. I have had them for ages and just found them again in a box in the shed.
Both have been signed by various high profile WW2 RAAF pilots on Anzac days many years ago. I had these photos in an old file.
Both helmets are light weight and I would like to know possible production years and purpose. I can only assume they may have been a parade helmet.

The liner is very reminiscent of an American made civil defence helmet that I have.

Sorry I can't help with the helmets - but the signatures are interesting, especially Squadron Leader Bob Cowper DFC who joined 456 Squadron RAAF just before D-Day, flying Mosquito XVIIs and XXXs out of Ford and Church Fenton on anti-V1 and Intruder operations. 456 were Australia's only nightfighter squadron. 77 Squadron flew Curtis Kittyhawks in the Darwin and New Guinea areas.

Just tracked down another signature - in the first pic is that of Squadron Leader David Leicester DFC* OAM who had a very active career as a Pathfinder with the famous 35 Squadron ( PFF ) operating Halifaxes and then Lancasters out of Graveley in Cambridgeshire.

I think these helmets are US veterans parade helmets.

Worn by veterans as they parade down to the nearest VFW bar.

Thank you for the help, I was hoping they were Australian issue. So would they be 40s or 50s vintage?
