    Default WW1 Brodie. Unknown markings

I recently acquired this early War Office Pattern Brodie, but do not know what the flashes represent. One side appears to have the letters "W. A. C?" and the other a few numbers beginning with "18...?". Does anyone recognise these flashes ? I suspect they are battle markings, but haven't been able to find any information. Thanks.

Probably not much help, 1st Dragoon Guards helmets were flashed to both sides, Canadian 2nd Div also had a blue oblong flash.
    Nice helmet.

The big book of battle insignia held by the IWM suggests B Co. 7th Bn. Royal West Kent Regiment (Queen's Own).
