It appears European. The Nam era liners were fiber, not plastic and didn't have the studs on the sides for a chinstrap.

It is NOT WWII. Nor is it even an American made liner.

Wish I could help but I've never seen this before. What is it made out of? Plastic? Are there any markings on the liner or writing on the webbing?

I would guess a Euro clone but these are not something I know much or anything about.

Not to sound glib, but it's web constrution looks very similar to a paintball/Airsoft PAGST helmet my son had at one point

Hopefully someone with a wider knowledge of world Helmets will be able to help you,all the Euro-clone M1's all followed the ww2 Riddell style webbing,at a guess middle or far eastern,or even south american.

i would hazard a guess its a spanish m1 liner going from the nape strap and liner webbing material and most likely manufactured post 1972 ,the leather chinstrap is something im not familiar with so perhaps its use was more for parades etc ,sorry i cant be of any more help ,regards james
