1943 Aussie made FS cap

A nearly mint Australian made 1943 dated FS, I have been told, by Ron, that it was probably made to specifications to suit British troops, rather than for Aussie forces. Apart from three small holes in the crown lining, it appears mint and has no sign of ever having a badge or buttons on it.

That's interesting Jerry. 1943 is getting late in the war for these. I know in 1943 the NZ Army was replacing the universal field service cap with the "General Service" cap.

I think its Aussie issue myself.
Here is my 1941 example from NSW just before they went to manufacturers codes.

Rarely worn by Aust soldiers, but were issued. The latest one I've come across in my collection is '41 and to my small knowledge they didn't have the rising sun applied (I could be wrong) I was told by a veteran that they called these Cu*t caps.
