Here is my latest addition, Aussie made and 43 dated, probably British used going by the removed flash and no sign of a rising sun badge. It is a xmas present from the wife so I have yet to take a decent pic of the inside.

Nice Aussie made Fur Felt Jerry. I would think British Issue also mate, the pug and unit flash shadow support this I feel.
Your slouch collection is growing mate.

    All the best mate

i've long assumed my slouch hat was post WW2 so i have put a AMF Rising Sun on it
but i've since seen similar dated hats that were late WW2 issue.
It has a Carr-Aust press stud and the pale cotton puggaree (6 folds?) has a stamp on it but its hard to read... D^D & it may be 1943?
Sadly it no longer has an inner leather sweatband or chinstrap, they were ripped out years ago by a then foolish child (me!!).
Any ideas an era - WW2 or post war?

    Pete

I think the green air vents are post war, war time examples have brown, though others probably know better than me.

    Hi Monochrome.
Post war mate I would think. The green vents as Jerry states are post WW2.
WW2 Issued Fur Felts had brown or reddish brown vents as a rule of thumb.
The Carr studs were still being used in the early 50's before production went back to the clip and hook I believe.
By the look of your example I would think early 50's. The Carr stud, vent colour and the brim edging support this.
Still a nice Fur Felt Monochrome.
Find yourself a good lugged 4th pattern General Service hat badge and your away.

    Hope this helps mate
