I thought i'd just add my two examples. First is a 1940 dated example of a Canadian made "Bonnet, tam-o’shanter":
The owner's number (D83175) is a Black Watch number. I added the hackle myself, it was originally worn in WWI by a soldier from the 13th Canadian Infantry Bn (Black Watch).
Second one is an undated British example from the Royal Scots. Badge backing is a piece of Hunting Stewart tartan.
