Canadian WWII Flight Cap / Helmet ?

Found this Buffalo Cap and Neckwear Ltd. of Winnipeg flight cap at local sale - RCAF E-type summer flying helmet.
My research points out to it being WWII period cap, but again looking for some expert opinion on period and use.
I am not a collector so it will be sold or traded, so if anybody is interested - let me know.

A big Thank You to Mr. Meyle for the opportunity to purchase
this helmet, and permission to post some photos here.
It was only after I saw adverts on FB and Kijiji that
I realized it was the same one and contacted
him. It will look fine among its brethren.
