    Cool! How did you acquire the piece?

    It came up one eBay, so I picked it up and sent the seller a question asking him if he had a story about it. And it turns out he actually knew the guy because he was in the same nursing home as his mother

    Very nice! It always add a little something to the piece with a nice story to accompany it.

    A good pick up and with its known history a bonus.

    How do you date these USN caps, I have one and I have no idea when it would date to.

    They made these caps up onto the 60s I think. So it is difficult to put a date on them
