Hi all, i received this glengarry cap this afternoon but i have no idea if it is military and what age it is? It appears to be made out of a leather type material. Any information would be fantastic.

Does it have a distinctive old smell to it?
Yes.
It looks to have made from an old pouffe?

Whatever its just an opinion.

Hi, thanks for the replies, i can see where you're coming from with that. Why would anyone make a cap like this out of a pouffe?
I don't know and it probably is not, but they were very popular in the 60's and were made out of vinyl (faux leather) and/or leather and it just reminded me of that sort of item.
I never seen one made this way out of leather or vinyl and I can't believe anyone in the military would wear such a cap, though the colours look good for Royal Engineers. It maybe a fancy dress item.

Yes, after looking at it more i agree its probably not military. Still an unusual item though. Thanks
