How to tell apart WWI and WWII Kepis?

Article about: I've been eyeballing some French kepis for a while, but I personally have some trouble telling apart WWI and WWII kepis. Anyone have any tips as to telling them apart? As far as I can tell,

    I've been eyeballing some French kepis for a while, but I personally have some trouble telling apart WWI and WWII kepis. Anyone have any tips as to telling them apart? As far as I can tell, for the most part, they're the same. Thank for you any advice given!

    The development of the Képi (and thus, the differences) is very subtle and complex.
    There are some previous threads on here which may give you some basic pointers, but, put simply, the WW2 types are of a more rigid and cylindrical form, with level top, while Great War models are softer, with asymmetric form and inset crown.
    This is a very simplistic ‘rule’, however!
