    Hi There,
I bought this Kepi from a Flea Market near Toulouse.
I have no idea about it although Ive found something not dissimlar via Wickipedia its better to talk to people who have interest in this sort of thing and may be able to enlightem me further to its authenticity.
I can email photographs as have had little success posting on here.
The cap its dark blue with red piping and the red grenade type feather badge on the front. Black plastic front with plastic belt acriss, The top of the hat is plain dark blue not red as you see in many pictures..
here is a link for the closest I have gotten to how this hat looks online.

    Hi charonades,

First off, welcome to the forums.
Secondly, unfortunately, without any pictures, we, as a group cannot help, therefor, could you please get some clear photos posted up in good lighting conditions.

The sort of pics that we need to see are interior, exterior, any maker marks, any badges that are fitted, the "edging bands" and any others that you can take.

Hope this is of some help
    Regards etc

    Hi there,

From your description it sounds like a French Fireman's kepi, specifically a pre 1990 one, after that the design changed somewhat, it probably dates between 1960-1990. Does it look like this?

Would come in handy if you're into French firefighter reanactment of the 1960s.
