It's been awhile since I updated this thread. I've acquired a couple new visors, however only one is a stand alone (meanign not part of a grouping).
This particular visor has eluded me for some time. Not because they are hard to find, but most because of lack of funds! Well, money was no issue this time around, so I was finally able to acquire a WWI US Army Officer's visor.
No name in the visor however it still retains period newspaper used to line the sweatband. Condition is great, sans two small holes.
Hope you enjoy!
Excellent officers cap these hats are going up in price good find
Thanks, Gel!
They certainly are going up in price. I had an opportunity to buy a few off of Ebay over the past couple of years, for a much lower price than what I paid for this one, however was always outbid. This time around, though, I didn't let that stop me....
Thanks, Colt!
Stunning example, by the way. Is the uniform named? Also, what material is the visor constructed from? Appears to be cotton...
no name , hat appears to be close weave cotton, celluloid liner , brown leather sweatband
Superb collection!
Great collection Eric I'm also building up my collection of these (1 more inbound), cheers for your superb reference.
I'm not sure of my EM black visor's period? can you help?
