Here is a close up of the officers hat. It has the ribbed band, it is just washed out in the first photos because of my cheap camera.

You are right it is a good officers cap lad.
You have a nice collection. The Merchant Marine cap is very hard to find.

Unfortunately I cannot help you with the classification, because I don't have the experience to do so, but I like your collection, it's really great! And you displayed them nice! And I laughed when you mentioned Abercrombie & Fitch. Are you serious? This is really weird
