Default New Slouch Hat With ANZAC Badge

Hi all. Picked this up today, although I know very little about it. The sweatband is not marked but I believe the lack of reinforcement around the vents denotes it as being of British manufacture? I am wondering what (if anything) the flash denotes and if the ANZAC badge makes sense. It does look like it has been on there for some time. Any comments would be most welcome. Cheers.

Hi. Thanks for the comment on the badge. Looks and feels genuine to me, but I have no experience with them. The press stud is Newey.

You are correct , it is a British made / issue hat and someone has added the much earlier rising sun

Thanks for that. Now I just need to find out what the flash denotes.

Yes possibly. It has been suggested on the British Badge Forum that the flash is for the East Yorkshire Regiment. I think that the dealer I got it from stuck a badge on it to give it a better look. Its just in this case they happened to choose a nice badge to put on.

    Cheers.
