hello Al,thanks and maybe as it has glass were it looks like it would be but you cant see anything threw it ?the (made in germany )backwards is crazy..the japanese item ,have you seen one like it before? it looks dryed up not sure what its made of?i have a capture paper from this guy were he sent home a japanese sword,bayonet and i cant make out the last line..?i will post a picture maybe you can read it?thanks so much.!

Well ,here is a group i just got last night all from the same guy..all ww2 items all have his name on them and papers also.the visor has a few moth nips but not bad.

Nice gear Pammy here's a little reference to the former owner of the cap NARA - AAD - Display Full Records - Electronic Army Serial Number Merged File, ca. 1938 - 1946 (Enlistment Records)
and proves that the black visor was used pre 45
