    I already owned for a few years the well worn example of a beret for an officer in tge royal welch fusiliers and added anpther example, in much better condition. It still has its makers label and ithink both are by snaith of Denbigh. I also have an officers forage cap by the same maker

    Nice to see Jerry but sadly the RWF badge in a beret like that always reminds me of Feb '79 when Lt Kirby RWF was shot dead by a Republican terrorist gunman on Abercorn Road, Londonderry.

    It does help fortify the memory (which is good as the memories should be kept alive) and I thank you for that

    I didn't serve for medical reasons, but remembering those who did, especially those who fell protecting our freedoms are two of the reasons I collect.

    I did try to enlist at age 15 into the junior leaders for which I was accepted, but becauae of deafness in one ear I was denied the opportunity to do my bit. The funny thing is I wanted to go into the welsh cavalry and probably would have lost it anyway....
