In 1935, a specific MP cap badge was finally introduced, showing a hand holding the scales of justice. Field made pieces cast locally during the campaign in North Africa are often encountered and are quite crude but the official pieces are well made.

Note the corps initials SACMP and SAMPK fopr English and Afrikaans languages.

One badge not often encountered is that for the Military Police of Transkei, which broke away from South Africa, but after a period of great unstability was later brought back into South Africa. This is from its short period of "independence".

Another African nation with rather nice MP badges is Zimbabwe (Rhodesia).
This is the badge worn in the pre-UDI days, with the Queens Crown and Lion centre.
