Here's a new one that came on Monday.
    History of USS COVINGTON
The German Liner Cincinnati took refuge in U.S. waters in 1914 when the hostilities began in Europe.
Cincinnati was renamed USS Covington and place in commision into the United States navy on July 26, 1917. The USS Covington was used as a troop ship.
The USS Covington was torpedo on July 1, 1918 from U-86. All escape except for 6. The next day they try to save her but failed.

These tallies are part of a grouping I just got. He was on the USS ARIZONA in 1939-1941 then transfer to the navy yard on Pearl. I think it was March of 1941 when he transfer. I'm sure he knew alot of the men on that ship. I have his jumper also, he was a musician 1st class.

That's for the comments guys. I will post the other items under uniforms. The muster rolls will tell his story until 1942 and he was a very lucky man.
I should sent for his records.
