Considering a US officer visor. I've been looking at examples on the forum, and I believe this is a wartime summer style visor with a 50 mission leather band on the back? I know these photos are way too small, and I've asked for larger, but I was hoping to see if anything looks completely out of place or if I've miss identified this one. Only oddity I can see from these photos is that there's no buckle on the rear leather strap. Maker appears to be Berkshire De Luxe

Not sure on price either, seller wants $150.

    Thanks folks!

A Berkshire Deluxe by Lee Uniform Cap Manufacturing of Baltimore Maryland. "Distinctive in Style and Construction"! It's a beauty of a cap, for sure!

Thanks for the feedback gentlemen. In talking with the seller, this hat is from a set of items that were owned by a Colonel (Capt in WW2) from a town very nearby. A local boy! He's going to send me photos of the other items tomorrow. I hope I can afford more from the set. Sounds like he did a tour in Europe in WW2. I'd love to fill my US uniform and visor collection slot with items from someone who I could have drove to chat with back in that day! Kind of excited about this prospect.

Well, the seller does have a lot of stuff. Here's some of it he's offering me. Much of it looks to be post war, Korea and onward. I'm hoping one of the green uniforms is WW2? I suspect they're all later though, I think that's an M50 Ike jacket. There are photos and documents too. 5 hats, 5 uniforms and all the other stuff for $500. But, it all looks to be Korean war and later, which is outside my collecting interests. I hate to think I may have to let it go. Might still go for the WW2 visor though.

I may not be much into post war collecting, but no doubt this man was a bit of a hero evidenced by the number bronze stars and the V device.

Still considering the visor as a WWII example. Is $150 too much for such an item?

    Thanks folks.
