    I'm loving the Major's uniform. Looks like he is sporting an 8th AF patch.

    I regret not buying it--cap was definitely prewar, and made out of wool (had to be hot to wear in the summer).
    Dealer wanted $200 for it, and I had just spent all my $$$ on an Admiral's visor....

    This is one of my USAAF caps, with about the crudest peak I have ever seen. Had to get it!
    When I first saw it, I thought it might be a theatre-made job, perhaps Indian, but was surprised to find it is a Bancroft Flighter!

    The grease-proofing has been removed and even the label torn out of the crown in an effort to make it super-lightweight and breathable.

    This example has a wonderful shape... it just pours off the head.

    Manufactured by United Hatters & Millinery Workers, it has a very nice chocolate brown peak and chinstrap.
