    Hi Al, I had a fantastic weekend!

    I am shattered though. It was 3.30am when I got to bed last night

    I will do a little thread tomorrow with some pics. My friend brought his George Medal to show me which he won in the Police after the war. First time I have ever held one of these medals.

    Here are 3 examples to illustrate that the basic design wasn't changed immediately after WWII. From left to right: Jalpotex from 1948, British beret industries from 1944 and Kangol from 1946.

    That's quite a piece of history you have in your friend Don's beret, and I'm glad to see that such a man's alive and well.

    Thanks for your comments. Sadly Don is not in the best of health and is currently in hospital. I am going down to visit him.
