Article about: Here's a USAAF Officers Hat. This has a dog tag inside named to Edward Sevadjian of Long Island, NY. The inside looks well used. Thanks, Rob.

Lots of character to this cap. I'm guessing by the headform
that it's a rather small size.........?

Nice to see a real crusher ( designed by the maker to be that way rather than just crushed by the headset )
A good indicator is the visor - usually only 2 ply and easily bent with thumb & forefinger. Ones that "look crushed" but have a rigid visor are IMO not true crushers .......

Nice! Love these crusher caps. Always wanted one but never have come across them!
"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated

Actually, you can find quite a few of these caps on Ebay; they are quite common. True crushers are somewhat scarce, however. I believe most are actually made of this twill material, rather than the fur felt. which doesn't "crush" as easily.
I was lucky to pick one up last year , for not much money.

The caps shown are nice regulation Army Officers caps but they are not true crusher caps.
Crusher caps have a 1 ply soft leather bill made from latigo cow leather and are usually marked as Airflow or Flighter on the interior crown or sweat band. The caps shown have a stiff 2 ply Oak tan leather bill and have had the crown wire stiffener removed from them.

Actually, my cap's bill is quite flexible, and can easily be folded so one side meets the other. I had another cap, since sold, which had the stiff peak.
Perhaps my cap is a "semi-crusher" ? It has no maker shown on the interior.
